'Choose the program you want to open this file' when attempting to launch InstallWoW
If your InstallWoW icon looks like this 
or this 
, and Windows is asking you to choose a program you want to open the file with, please follow these steps to successfully download your game:
- Cancel any program selection window you may have open
- Right-click the InstallWoW file
- Left-click Rename, on the menu that has appeared
- Use the right cursor key [->] to move to the end of the file name
- Add .exe to the end of the file name, and press Enter
After renaming the file, the icon should now have changed to 
, run this file to start your Downloader.
