Time is winding down on the Holiday Fan Art Calendar contest, but it's not over yet! We're inviting players to create a piece of artwork that helps us set the tone for each month and season, using any major in-game holiday as inspiration. Here's your chance to get a piece of art in the 2011 World of Warcraft calendar, and one lucky grand prize winner will also receive a Wacom Cintiq 12WX digital input tablet (the same kind used by many of our very own Blizzard Entertainment artists) to take his or her art to the next level.
The contest ends February 8, 2010, so get into the spirit of your favorite in-game holiday and let your cup of creativity flow over! See the contest page for full details.
The combined efforts of the World of Warcraft community have now unlocked a piece of epic in-game music that is part of the encounter with Arthas in Icecrown Citadel: 'Invincible,' an ode to one who has fallen. Time and events have left it unclear whether the song refers to the former prince of Lordaeron or his beloved steed. This unlockable stream will be first chance to hear the piece in its entirety.
The premiere issue of the World of Warcraft Official Magazine is now arriving in subscribers' mailboxes. Issue #1 includes a look at the lore surrounding Icecrown Citadel; interviews with the developers on the upcoming Cataclysm expansion; profiles of pet collectors, Arena champs, and achievement seekers; expert advice from top raiding guilds and PvPers; and much more.
You can still receive Issue #1 if you subscribe before February 28. For more info, including a whopping 40-page preview of some of the features in the first issue, head over to www.worldofwarcraftthemagazine.com.

We have also added a landing page for our Polish community which will be expanded upon in the near future. In addition to translating the site into these two languages, we will also be releasing StarCraft II itself in Italian and Polish! Take a moment to check out the new StarCraft II sites and the new Battle.net forums for Italian, Polish, and Russian speakers!
We have just added forums to Battle.net for our Russian speaking community! Russian players can now log on and post threads, comments, and ask questions in their native language. Take a moment to check them out!
The zerg would be in soon. They tore at the door, the walls, the ceiling. Erekul could feel the other high templar, his brothers and sisters, fighting and dying. Buying him precious seconds. He closed his eyes; the Khala pulsed within. The collective thoughts and feelings of his people were filled with chaos, terror, and pain.
Read more about the protoss struggle against the zerg in our latest short story by Brian T. Kindregan: Mothership.
