Associate eSports Manager
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a seasoned e-sports manager to manage our tournament operations in Europe. The associate e-sports manager will lead Blizzard Europe’s tournaments department in cooperation with the global e-sports team and conceive and produce online and live tournaments featuring Blizzard games. This person will work extensively with other departments, including Community, Web, Marketing, Public Relations, and Development, to coordinate and complete tournament-related tasks. The associate e-sports manager will also represent Blizzard with sponsors and vendors.
The ideal candidate not only has demonstrable experience handling the operations aspects of competitive game tournaments, but also extensive experience with event planning and management, including the ability to work with third-party vendors and service providers. In addition, this person must have strong communication and motivational skills, must be able to work within a strict budget while still producing entertaining and compelling events, and must be willing to pitch in on operational duties as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating and producing a year-round slate of competitive tournament events.
- Managing a departmental budget.
- Planning and managing operations at live and online tournament events.
- Negotiating and working with vendors and sponsors.
- Working with Marketing, PR, Development, and other internal departments on tournament-related projects.
- Representing Blizzard publicly, with the press, and with business contacts.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years experience organizing and/or participating in online and LAN gaming competitions.
- Prior management and budgeting experience.
- Extensive contact list within the worlds of e-sports and corporate sponsorship.
- Event-planning and coordinating experience.
- Knowledge of competitive gaming, pro-gaming, ladders, and tournaments.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interface effectively with both gamers and businesspeople.
- Proven organizational and task-management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to multitask effectively.
- Willingness to work on late hours and weekends occasionally depending on tournament schedules.
- Able to travel extensively, including international travel.
