Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that it is in the process of creating a fully localized Italian version of its critically acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft®. The Italian version will be available in Europe later this year. The World of Warcraft community website and forums will be offered in Italian, and realms dedicated to the Italian community will be made available to all European players. This will be the eleventh officially supported language for World of Warcraft worldwide, and the seventh supported language in Europe, following English, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese.
We’re pleased to announce that PayPal is now available to use as a Battle.net payment option here in Europe.
This means that you can now sync up your existing PayPal account with your Battle.net account, in order to purchase Blizzard Entertainment products and services directly through Battle.net.
You can currently use the PayPal payment option to purchase World of Warcraft paid services and digital versions of select Blizzard Entertainment games, including Diablo II, StarCraft II and World of Warcraft expansions.

World of Warcraft fans have one final chance to take part in this auction, and get a piece of Blizzard Entertainment history. Recent changes to the hardware running the various World of Warcraft realms in Europe have made a unique opportunity available to players. The old hardware has been carefully decommissioned and lovingly preserved in presentation cases (see attached pictures), and the final batch of retired EU server blades are now available for bidding on eBay; this is the very final step in the charity auction that began in October. Net proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
St. Jude is a pediatric hospital and research facility where patients from Europe and around the world are cared for. European medical professionals benefit from the discoveries made at St. Jude in their treatment of children with cancer and other serious illnesses. Partner clinics across the globe are aided by the hospital’s valuable research.
If you thought your chance had gone… think again! You can go place your bids now.
For more details, and to view the auction schedule for this final batch of server blades, please visit this blog post on our World of Warcraft community site. More information on St. Jude is also available on their website.

It’s a rare occasion when we’re able to mark the 15-year anniversary of not only a game, but an entire universe. In 1996, the original Diablo® introduced gamers to the cursed town of Tristram… and the twisted, ancient evil that dwelled beneath it. Diablo II and its expansion, Lord of Destruction®, transformed a claustrophobic dungeon-crawler into a sprawling adventure that drew players into the wider world of Sanctuary. Today, with Diablo III on the horizon, we’d like to celebrate all of the memorable moments that have marked the last decade and a half of Diablo history.
Please join us in celebrating Diablo’s 15-year anniversary -- and we invite you to share your own Diablo memories with us by using the Twitter hashtag #Diablo15.
