Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities.
In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace:
OVERWATCH.
It ended the war and kept the world safe in the decades that followed, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. But as the years passed, Overwatch's influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded.
Overwatch may be gone... but the world still needs heroes.

Scoring the Future
Overwatch is Blizzard's first new franchise in nearly twenty years, so when we set about searching for its musical identity, we wanted to get to the core of what Overwatch is. Since the game brings together heroes and villains from across the globe, we sought to draw upon an expansive range of sounds and instruments that represent the diversity of Earth. Our heroes needed timeless melodies. Our locations needed distinctive themes. And most of all, our music needed to stir players to action, to embody the sense of heroism that infuses the Overwatch world.
Blizzard's games make use of live orchestras, and Overwatch is no exception. Our new world is populated by more than just humans; there are a great many omnics—robots—struggling to live in harmony with them, and our music reflects that. Overwatch's soundtrack pairs the electronic with the acoustic, synthesized sounds with the orchestral, the robotic with the organic.
We've only started our musical exploration of this world, and it has been our pleasure to play in it. We hope you enjoy the music of Overwatch as much as we have enjoyed creating it.
